Auchterarder Parish Church
Auchterarder

Client: The Board of Trustees of The Church of Scotland

Project value: £500,000 - £1m

Designed by Honeyman Keppie Architects, with detail by the young Rennie Mackintosh, Auchterarder Parish Church is a unique example of late 19th-century Romantic Architecture. Hurd Rolland developed proposals to alter and extend the church buildings to provide new community facilities including the provision of a 250-seat hall, creche, multi-activity rooms and meeting rooms, together with a kitchen, toilets and reception areas.

Architecturally, the designs were derived from a traditional cloistered form, with the use of simple, natural materials intended to relate to the stonework of the earlier buildings.
