Sueno’s Stone Enclosure
Our skills in the regeneration of historic town centres and country houses have led to work in historic towns such as Edinburgh, York, Manchester and St Petersburg.

At the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, a programme to replace crumbling stonework was planned over 10 years, with the rebuilding of Robert Rowan Anderson’s elaborate gothic spires completed in 1996. Statuary and balustrading were repaired and replaced, while cornices were re-cut and concealed, and modified mouldings added.

Other projects, including Duff House, Burntisland Parish Church and Sueno’s Stone Enclosure, are examples of the wide range of conservation projects which have been undertaken by the practice over recent years, requiring the intervention of sensitive design, fine detailing, technical expertise and an extensive knowledge of traditional construction materials.
