Based in Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Rossend Castle in Fife, the partnership was founded in the 1930s and
currently employs a team of around eighty experienced and well-qualified staff. The practice has grown continually
since opening the Manchester office in 1989.
Our experience and ability, at both national and local level, enable us to deliver high-profile projects on behalf
of prestigious clients operating within diverse sectors, including: commercial, office and retail projects, public,
judicial, PPP- procured buildings and residential. The early work of the practice, concerning historic buildings and
town centres, has been continued and enables us to combine both restoration skills and contemporary design
effectively, to meet the specific objectives of every project.
In addition to design skills, we are able to provide specialist analysis of building defects, expert witness advice
and planning supervision. We place great importance on understanding and clarifying each client's needs, achieving
the full potential of every site by creating responsive, distinctive and contextual architecture.
