A pair of family dwellings, arranged within a former walled garden.

This proposal provides for two new detached residential four-bedroom houses, arranged symmetrically around a central dividing fence within the existing walled garden. Access to each plot is formed by new gate openings within the existing north wall, creating new courtyards to the north side of each building. The dwellings are predominantly single storey, with a double storey at the hinge point of the plan providing increased height to the main living accommodation and upper floor master bedroom suite. The north side of the buildings accommodate garage, stairs, corridor and entrance, with main living space oriented to face south to gain the benefit of light and aspect.
The clean, modern aesthetic and horizontal emphasis seek to create an elegant new development which is respectful to the character of the existing walled garden environment.
