BAE Offices, Edinburgh

A significant scheme, providing a variety of high quality working environments.

Hurd Rolland completed a series of projects for BAE at their Crewe Toll campus in Edinburgh. The first project was a new Directorate Building, which comprises new headquarters along with engineering design offices and laboratory facilities. Providing 15,000m2 of internal space, arranged around a central atrium, the scheme provides the best possible quality working environment, and great south-facing views over Edinburgh.

A further phase, opposite the Directorate Building, provides 14,500m2 of office and laboratory space over three floors. Again arranged around a central atrium, the scheme is configured to make the most of the tricky corner site, while also carefully retaining the Grade-B Listed corner tower from an earlier 1950s building. These works were followed by improvements to offices in other buildings, along with the refurbishment of production halls and the creation of new Clean Rooms.
